5 Favorite Features of the 2022 Kia Niro EV
The 2022 Kia Niro is an EV that rises above other vehicles in its class with all the great features it offers you. Here’s a sample of some of the best features you’ll get when you choose the Niro as your next ride.
1. Range to Take You Farther
Interested in making the switch to an EV but worried it won’t be able to take you everywhere you plan on going? Those worries get put to rest with the Niro, which gets an AMCI-certified 293-mile range to put just about every destination within your reach. The quick-charging electric powertrain also minimizes downtime between journeys, adding 100 miles of range in just 30 minutes of charging at compatible fast-charging stations.
2. Impressive Level of Comfort
From the moment you climb aboard your Niro, the high seating position will instill you with a sense of confidence, giving you a vantage point to clearly see the path ahead of you and quickly identify any obstacles. Heated seats come standard in this year’s model as well, with a heated steering wheel available for an additional boost to your comfort during any cold-weather drives.
3. Intelligent Connectivity Features
You’ll maintain a connection with your vehicle even when you aren’t in the driver’s seat yourself through the available Kia Connect feature for your Kia Access app. Open up the app on your compatible device and you’ll be able to find nearby charging stations to keep your vehicle energized. You can also access remote features to find your vehicle, unlock your doors, and start the engine remotely.
4. Enhanced Sense of Safety
The Kia Drive Wise system built into the Niro allows you to achieve an uncommon level of peace of mind throughout all of your travels. Visual and auditory alerts from the blind-spot collision warning alert you to objects that may pose a risk that are outside your field of view. The rear cross-traffic collision warning system provides another set of eyes watching your back when you’re in reverse, using automatic brakes to mitigate a collision if needed.
5. Room for All Your Cargo
The Niro was designed to fit every aspect of your lifestyle, including giving you the room you need to fit any cargo you intend to bring along for the ride. The rear seats are easy to fold down to make room when you have extra luggage that you’re bringing on your road trip, and can easily come back out if you need to accommodate more passengers. 4 Signs Your Kia May Need a Transmission Repair
Every vehicle needs routine service to keep it running in top shape. However, sometimes this isn’t enough, and things can go wrong in your vehicle that require immediate repair. There are usually tell-tale signs letting you know when there’s something wrong with your vehicle. Below, we’ll tell you all about the signs that you need to visit your Kia dealer for a transmission repair ASAP.
1. Your Gearshifts Are Delayed
Automatic transmissions should seamlessly slide into the right gear of their own accord. If the transmission doesn’t immediately engage when you accelerate after stopping or go from park to drive, then there’s something wrong. It’s time to head to the dealer to get your vehicle checked out as soon as you can.
If you drive a manual transmission car, then you might notice that it’s suddenly hard to shift gears. Alternatively, your RPMs might surge while your engine doesn’t respond. Replacing the clutch in a manual transmission car often fixes this issue, but it may still be a problem with the transmission.
2. Your Vehicle Has Low Transmission Fluid Levels
If you routinely check your fluid levels, then you’ll notice when your transmission fluid level is much lower than usual. This could be a sign that your transmission fluid is leaking.
If you haven’t spotted a pool of transmission fluid near your vehicle, then it’s most likely leaking under the hood and could be causing damage to other parts of your vehicle. You’ll also know if your transmission fluid is leaking if you spot a sweet-smelling red fluid under your car.
3. Your Vehicle Is Emitting a Burning Smell
Burning odors often indicate that your vehicle or a component in it is overheating. They can also indicate that your transmission fluid has gotten old and is starting to burn up. Burning transmission fluid often smells similar to burned rubber. Make sure you pull over if you catch a whiff of this aroma, because if you keep driving, then the problem will escalate.
4. Your Vehicle Is Making Unfamiliar Noises
You’re probably used to all the noises your vehicle typically makes. However, if it starts making any new noises, then there may be something wrong. You should get it serviced to make sure there’s nothing strange going on under the hood. New humming and whining sounds often indicate that your transmission is breaking down or that you need a fluid flush.
Have you experienced any of the problems outlined above? If so, then you need to come straight to Koons Kia of Owings Mills so we can check out your transmission. We’ll get it fixed promptly and get you back out on the road.

As your Kia dealer, we hope that you’ll never be involved in an accident. If you should ever need a collision repair, you always have the choice between your dealership or an independent repair shop. We’d like to tell you some of the keys to a high-quality repair for your Kia, and why we’re the first choice to provide that repair.
Highly-Trained Technicians
The best repair can only be performed by experts who know and understand your Kia. All of our technicians are trained by Kia and certified to perform all possible repairs. In addition, our technicians regularly attend training courses on new Kia models and special features. This intensive and constant training is coupled with daily practical experience in Kia servicing and repairs.
A regular mechanic won’t have this level of expertise or knowledge. Mechanics work on a variety of makes and models daily. Not all of this practical experience is readily transferrable to your Kia. The differences between various makes and models can lead to possible mistakes or errors in the repair. The lack of practical experience will also lead to longer repair times.
High-Quality Parts
As a Kia dealer, we only use genuine Kia parts in all of our repairs. These parts are designed and engineered by Kia to fit your car and work perfectly. Genuine Kia parts are identical to the parts that were used to build your car. We have a comprehensive stock of parts available and can speedily receive any additional parts that are needed from Kia.
A regular repair shop is unlikely to have or use Kia parts. Most repair shops will use generic parts as they are cheaper than genuine ones. A generic part isn’t designed specifically for your Kia, it’s designed to fit a variety of makes and models. Since the part isn’t designed for your car, it may not fit or work as well as the genuine part. In addition, generic parts usually need to be replaced more frequently.
Warranty
Warranties on labor and repairs are guarantees that repair work has been completed correctly. In the unlikely event of a problem, the problem will be fixed for free. We provide a warranty on all of our repair work, and Kia provides warranties on all of the replacement parts. Any repairs necessary can also be performed at any Kia car dealership.
A repair shop may offer a warranty on their labor, but any adjustments after a repair will need to be completed at the same repair shop. In addition, generic parts don’t usually have a warranty as they’re not specifically designed for your car.
If you need a repair, call the Kia experts at Koons Kia of Owings Mills.
