The Kia Niro is back with a brand-new design for 2023. This hybrid crossover SUV comes with five trim levels. This guide will highlight the standout features of each trim, so you know which is most suitable for you.

Basics About the Kia Niro

The Korean manufacturer has been producing this electrification-focused vehicle since 2016, and it has gone from strength to strength. It is available in three versions; hybrid, plug-in hybrid, and electric battery. The 2023 edition of this five-seater continues to combine great fuel economy with a cool modern design.

New/Unique Features

The 2023 edition of this vehicle has been completely revamped on the inside and out. The design is inspired partly by the HabaNiro concept vehicle that was released in 2019. Compared to the 2022 edition, you can expect more room for cargo, more space for passengers, extra safety features, and a notably more powerful plug-in hybrid model.

The “green zone” drive mode is a notable new feature available in both hybrid models. This feature uses sat-nav technology to automatically switch the vehicle into EV mode when driving in neighborhoods, near schools and hospitals, or in frequently visited areas such as the driver’s home or workplace.

Trim Levels

LX

The base level trim comes with 16-inch alloy wheels. It’s packed with safety features, including automatic emergency brakes, blind spot detection, rear cross-traffic, and lane-following assist. The 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system is compatible with Apple Carplay and Android Auto.

EX

The EX trim adds a lot of cool and useful features. These include a power driver’s seat, rear parking sensors, rain-sensing windscreen wipers, and smart cruise control technology. The infotainment system is boosted up to a 10.25-inch screen system on this trim.

EX Touring

You’ll upgrade to 18-inch alloy wheels with the EX Touring trim. You’ll be able to make use of a sunroof, LED fog lights, LED interior lights, and power-folding side-view mirrors.

SX

The SX trim adds some extra luxury with vegan leather upholstery, a heated steering wheel, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, a power liftgate, and an eight-speaker Harman Kardon sound system. The gloss black exterior accent trim and SynTex seat trim add a touch of extra style to this model.

SX Touring

This trim combines the best features of the SX and the EX touring trims. Essentially then, it’s the SX vehicle with 18-inch alloy wheels, LED lights, and all the aforementioned safety features.

This electric SUV provides great value for money in all of its trims. If you’re interested in this or any other Kia vehicle, make sure to visit us at Koons Kia of Owings Mills. Our experts are ready to answer all your questions and make sure you’re happy with your purchase.
