1. Hollofield Campground

The Hollofield Campground is “a little piece of wilderness” with direct access to many hiking trails. Each of the 73 campsites (some with electric hookups) is surrounded by tall trees which provide privacy. Guests describe this park as clean and well maintained.

2. Cherry Hill Park

This park, close to Washington, DC is a family favorite. The campground offers 2 solar-warmed pools, a splash pad, summer movie nights, a mini golf course and tractor rides. There is also a dog park and a dog walking service.

3. Ramblin’ Pines

Rambin`Pines offers 200 campsites (190 with full hookups) as well as cabins for up to four people. The park is known for its many attractions like a fishing pond, a heated pool, an exercise room and playgrounds. You can check out the “activity schedule” on their website to better plan your stay.

4. Hilton Loop

If you like to keep it small, you might want to consider Hilton Loop with only twelve tent sites (with no electricity), six single-room cabins and four youth group campsites. The campsites are spaced out with plenty of room. Reservations for parks near Owings Mills can be made through Maryland´s Department of Natural Resources.

5. Camp Meade RV park

This military campground is located inside of Ford Meade. It offers 50 RV campsites as well as four cabins that sleep up to six people. Guests describe this place as a “great spot to bring kids and dogs”. Note that this park is on base. If you are not in the military, you’ll need a civilian CAC card to get in.

6. Capitol KOA

Capitol KOA not only offers RV and tent sites and fully equipped cabins for up to eight people, and guests can also hop on a daily shuttle bus to the US Capitol Building for some sightseeing in Washington, DC. Back at the camp, guests can hop in the pool, rent bikes or enjoy the huge jumping pillow.

7. Little Bennett Campground

Little Bennett is the only campground in Montgomery County and is surrounded by more than 25 miles of trails. Amenities of the 91 campsites include a two-vehicle gravel parking area, picnic table, campfire ring and lantern post.

8. Susquehanna State Park Campground

Susquehanna campground contains two loops with a total of 69 sites and six cabins. Each loop has its own comfort station with hot showers. Guests have access to the Susquehanna river where anglers can try their best to catch striped bass as well as large and smallmouth bass (depending on the season).

9. Bayshore Campgrounds

Bayshore sits directly along the bay and offers not only beautiful sunsets and an amazing view of the surrounding landscape but also a beach. There are two ponds, a basketball and volleyball court and a playground. This place is especially loved by bird watchers and known for Bald Eagle sightings.
