Right Out the Gate, the New 2018 Kia Stinger Clinches 2018 Wards 10 Best Honors

You've popped the cork and watched the ball drop, and though a few auld acquaintances may be forgot, a new year of adrenalized thrill rides is ahead. It's a better time than ever to experience a whole new kind of performance drive, and luckily, one of our new favorites was just named to the 2018 Wards 10 Best Engines list.

Weighing contenders from a field of 32 powertrains, the automotive news and industry analysis expert selected the 3.3-liter twin-turbo V6 revving eagerly under the hood of the all-new 2018 Kia Stinger GT performance sedan as one of its ten favorite engines for 2018. WardsAuto noted the new 2018 Stinger trim for its "exceptional power delivery, responsiveness, and refinement," highlighting a 167 mph top speed and zero-to-60-mph acceleration of as little as 4.7 seconds as signaling "gran turismo credentials."

The new Lambda II engine ticked all the boxes across professional reviewer's evaluative criteria, offering not only state-of-the-art technology and low-noise operation, but also respectable fuel economy alongside hallmark energetics. A hard-charging 365 horsepower dovetails 376 pound-feet of torque in the low 1,350 to 4,500 rpm range to truly get up and go.

With the new 2018 Kia Stinger having been developed on the Nurburgring Nordschleife racing circuit, our Owings Mills, MD Kia dealer can certainly see how, too. Kia put its new performance sedan through a course to test the mettle of any sports car. Stinger underwent hard accelerating and rapid slowing, cornered on a dime, and tacked across nearly 1,000 feet of elevation changes for a total of 12.9 miles at a time -- and that, for at least 480 laps, or 6,214 miles total. It's no small wonder WardsAuto found 2018 Stinger one to stand up to 2018 competition like the Audi S5 Sportback, BMW 440i Gran Coupe, Infiniti Q5, and Porsche Panamera.

You can explore the all-new 2018 Kia Stinger for yourself right here in Owings Mills, too. Our Koons Kia dealership offers a selection to tantalize one's inner Formula 1 driver. Take the short drive over to 9610 Reisterstown Rd. today, and we'll give you the grand tour of what the excitement's all about!
