Trim Levels (Exterior)
The 2022 Seltos comes in five trims, the LX, S, the new Nightfall Edition, EX, and the premium SX turbo. This handsomely styled SUV has a unique design in the front with stacked headlight styling that brackets a sophisticated-looking front grille. The available two-tone roof with roof rails helps to give the Seltos an edgy and rugged appearance. Choose the Nightfall Special Edition trim if you like a mysterious-looking Seltos with its black accents, 18-inch matte black wheels, and black side sills.
Engine (Power)
While small in stature, the Seltos has two powerful engine choices. For the LX, S, and EX trims, you'll find a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 146 horsepower and 132 pound-feet of torque. Both the Nightfall and SX Turbo come with a 1.6-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that delivers 175 horsepower and 195 pound-feet of torque. The 2.0-liter engine mates with an intelligent variable transmission, while the 1.6-liter turbocharged engine pairs with a seven-speed quick-shift transmission.
Performance
The LX and EX come standard with Kia's Dynamax all-wheel-drive system, featuring a special lock mode for enhanced traction. The S, Nightfall Edition, and SX Turbo come with front-wheel drive or the option to upgrade to the all-wheel-drive system.
All trims come with Kia's torque vectoring corner control system and drive mode select. Front MacPherson struts and gas shock absorbers help to give the 2022 Seltos a smooth ride. A rear coupled torsion beam axle and gas shock absorbers on the S trim and the independent multilink rear suspension system found on the other trims contribute to the Seltos' quiet ride.
Interior
A spacious interior with upscale features helps to define the Seltos. Up to five people can fit on the two rows of seats inside of this SUV. You'll find cloth seats on the base LX and cloth and SynTex seating materials on the upper trims. The Nightfall Edition, EX, and SX Turbo get power-adjustable heated front seats, and all but the LX get a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob. Depending on the seating configurations, the 2022 Seltos can get up to 62.8 cubic feet of storage space.
All but the LX trim come with Kia's UVO infotainment system featuring a 10.25-inch touch screen. Standard features that come with this system include remote connectivity, navigation, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration, and Siri Eyes-Free. A seven-speaker sound system comes standard on the four lower trims and the SX Turbo gets a Bose premium stereo with a connected mood lamp.
Safety Features
Kia's Drive Wise safety features include forward collision-avoidance assist with pedestrian detection, blind-spot collision avoidance assist, rear cross-traffic avoidance assist, and smart cruise control. Additional features include driver attention warning and automatic high-beam headlights.
