2022 Kia Carnival

When shopping for the 2022 Kia Carnival, you have four trim options: LX, EX, SX, and SX Prestige. The Carnival is the first Kia vehicle to have the redesigned Kia logo on its hood. It comes standard with 17-inch alloy wheels and powered sliding side doors. Moving up to the EX trim adds 19-inch alloy wheels and a powered tailgate, while the SX includes fog lights and roof rails. With the top-of-the-line SX Prestige, you'll get a powered dual-pane sunroof and full LED exterior lighting.

All 2022 Carnivals have the same powertrain, which consists of a V-6 engine that produces 290 horsepower. It comes mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission and front-wheel drive. The responsive engine gives you plenty of acceleration from a stop or merging along the highway.

When looking at fuel economy, the 2022 Carnival achieves decent numbers. Expect to get an EPA-estimated 19 mpg in the city and 26 mpg on the highway. Also, when properly equipped, the Carnival can tow up to 3,500 pounds.

Stepping foot inside the Carnival, you'll notice plenty of top-shelf materials, giving the minivan an upscale feel. Fold down that third row, and you'll get 86.9 cubic feet. When you fold down both the second and third rows, you'll have a maximum capacity of 145.1 cubic feet of space.

To keep everyone connected, the Carnival comes with an intuitive infotainment system. It comes standard with an 8-inch touch-screen display that's easy to access, but you can use physical controls to operate certain functions. Other standard features include HD radio, Bluetooth, seven USB ports, and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. The minivan also has a quiet mode, which lets you deactivate all speakers except the front ones to not disturb those riding in the rear seats. Available technology upgrades include a 12.3-inch touch-screen display, satellite radio, navigation, wireless device charging, and a rear-seat entertainment system.

Kia outfitted every Carnival with about a dozen safety features, so you can rest assured that you and your travelers are protected. Some of these standard features include automatic emergency braking, forward-collision warning, pedestrian detection, and driver drowsiness monitoring. Upper trims include additional safety features such as blind-spot monitoring, a surround-view parking camera system, and a parallel exit assist.
