Trim Levels (Exterior)
The 2021 Kia Soul is offered to its drivers in six trim levels: the LX, S, GT-Line, X-Line, EX, and Turbo. Choose the GT-Line to add a sunroof or the X-Line for roof rails. Upgrading to the EX adds heated side mirrors and a keyless entry system. The Turbo gives you a unique sporty exterior design, as well as LED headlights and fog lights. Choose one of the Soul's two-tone paint color options for a contrasting black roof that makes your hatchback stand out in a crowd.
Engine (Power)
The standard powerhouse for the 2021 Soul is a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that outputs 147 horsepower and 132 pound-feet of torque. If you opt for the Turbo, you'll get the turbocharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine that creates 201 horsepower and 195 pound-feet of torque.
The LX comes standard with a six-speed manual transmission. The Turbo features a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. Optional for the LX and standard on the rest is an intelligent variable automatic transmission.
Performance
The Soul Turbo offers the most exciting experience out of the 2021 lineup with features such as the steering-wheel-mounted paddle shifters and center-exit dual exhaust. This trim also offers a smart cruise control system that speeds up and slows down your Kia to maintain a set distance from the vehicle ahead of you. The 2021 Soul gets up to an EPA-estimated 25 mpg in the city and 31 mpg on the highway.
Interior
The Kia Soul has seating for five passengers in two rows. The 60/40-split rear row folds down to increase the cabin's cargo room. The Kia Soul's progressive trim levels enable you to find your perfect balance of features and budget. Choose the EX for weather-ready features, including dual-zone climate control and heated front seats. The Turbo trim level has synthetic leather and cloth seat trim that makes your cabin feel more first-class.
The entry-level LX gives you a 7-inch touch screen that has access to the Android Auto and Apple CarPlay smartphone integration programs. For a 10.25-inch touch screen with the premium navigation system, upgrade to the EX. The EX also offers a wireless phone charger. The Turbo is the most technologically outfitted, offering a head-up display and a Harman Kardon sound system with speaker lights.
Safety Features
Move up to the S trim level to take advantage of intelligent safety-boosting technologies, including an automatic emergency braking system, lane-keeping assist, blind-spot detection alert, and a rear cross-traffic alert and avoidance system. Every 2021 Kia Soul comes standard with a rear backup camera to give you a better view as you're reversing. The Soul's list of active safety features includes traction control and electronic stability control.
