Trim Levels (Exterior)
The 2021 Kia Rio makes car shopping easy by giving you two trim level options: the LX and the S. The Rio is also available as a five-door hatchback offered within the S trim level. This year's Rio is available in six paint color options, including Currant Red and Sporty Blue. The Rio sits on 15-inch wheels with both trim levels. Available exterior features include the Rio S's available LED headlights, remote keyless entry, remote trunk opener, and more. The Rio has a sleek sedan design that's made more sporty by the angular front fascia with Kia's black tiger-nose grille.
Engine (Power)
Both of the 2021 Kia Rio's trim levels feature a 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine that outputs 120 horsepower and 112 pound-feet of torque. This engine is connected to a continuously variable automatic transmission and a front-wheel-drive system.
Performance
The Rio S offers a cruise control system that improves your sedan's efficiency. The Rio's intelligently engineered engine enables it to reach up to an EPA-estimated 33 mpg in the city and 41 on the highway. Though the Rio is designed primarily with efficiency in mind, its small size offers a nimble performance that enhances your drives through city streets. Interior
The new Rio has a cabin designed to make your rides feel more stylish and comfortable with features such as a six-way adjustable driver's seat and the S's automatic temperature control. Both of the Rio trim levels feature an 8-inch touch screen that's compatible with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Use the Bluetooth wireless technology to issue voice commands to your smart screen to access many of your favorite phone features. The S Technology Package also adds a 4.2-inch digital driver display, a better sound system, and push-button start to fully equip your Rio.
Both the Rio's sedan and hatchback styles seat up to five passengers and offer 60/40-split rear rows. The sedan's trunk offers 13.7 cubic feet of cargo space with the seats up. The hatchback gives you 17.4 cubic feet with the seats up, but you can increase this cargo space by folding the rear seatbacks down.
Safety Features
All 2021 Kia Rio models come standard with a rearview camera that takes the guesswork out of backing up. If you want to load your Rio with even more smart safety features, choose the S trim with the S Technology Package. Doing so gives you access to driver-assist features that include the automatic emergency braking technology that detects potential danger ahead and applies the Rio's brakes if necessary. The Rio also features active safety features such as the anti-lock braking system and electronic stability control to help you maintain and regain control in areas with low traction road conditions.
